Plume yourself on something!

Thu Jun 25, 2009, 12:34 PM
  • Mood: Spidey Sense
  • Listening to: "La Vie Boheme,"- RENT
  • Watching: Memoirs of a Geisha
  • Eating: Bagels with strawberry creamcheese
  • Drinking: Chocolate Milk :3
If anyone is wondering about the reoccuringly odd titles of my journals, well, they are usually derived from something random going on in my life at the time; but in this case the title actually comes from 19th century slang. "Plume yourself on something" means "be proud of it." (I am brushing up on my old speak. :D)

School exams ended last week and I was very pleased to be informed by my awesome sauce crazy science teacher (Klinka :shakefish:) that I got the highest score on the bio-11 exam. (Huzzah I say.) I am not nearly as confident however with the socials or English but I have learned in this case that it is over and done with and I refuse to care about it anymore. Instead I have taken to writing which brings me to ask; if I submitted an actual chapter from the Gentlemen diaries, how many people would be interested in reading it?

It is not finished yet but it is nearly there as has to do with Felix dragging Lucien into a Venice burlesque club called the Giglio Rossa full of prostitutes and rent-boys... I tried to make it comical >.>...For whoever can I would really appreciate a response on the matter. It doesn't even have to be much, just a simple "YEAH OMG THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, FELIX IS TOTALLY HAWT LOL OMG ROFLCOPTER," or a "NO BOO, YOU SUCK HOLLY AND DESERVE TO BE BEAT WITH MANY FLAILING STICKS!" will do.

Now...other matters. I have job this summer illustrating a program for little childrens who cant read yet. I don't know yet how much time this will take me but please forgive if I put out a lack of art. The coloured version of "The Boys," is almost done and I will have that up fairly soon. I might also be getting another job elsewhere despite my protests. Parental unit one seems to feel it necessary as for the most part seems to have disregarded this illustrating job as being a job. (Ouch.)

As for summer plans I am going to *Savoury?*, *Savory?* Island this weekend. I have no real concept of where this place is and know absolutely nothing about it apart from the fact that we are apparently not allowed to have cars there and that its name reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner and therefore turkey but more importantly gravy. Mmm...gravy island. I wonder what it would be like to swim in gravy...:O ...tasty

Uh...I don't have much else to say at the moment except, Russian accents are really kind of sexy, I eat too much Nutella and why am I not fat? Right

That is all.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summers. Best wishes!

-The Gilded Lady. :blowkiss:

P.S. Curse you RENT! Curse you!

This song is stuck in my head. :dead: LA VIE BOHEME!

I cannot recall a time in my life when I did not love to draw and create things with my own hands. Nothing makes me happier than being able to see my thoughts on paper, especially my beloved characters and the unusual personalities and stories I have created for them over the years.

My interests besides art include everything from musical history to dear Oscar (being Oscar Wilde) to collecting old books and going antiquing. Apparently, according to several friends I am also quite eccentric but I believe normalacy can only be determined by one's own self, that being said if I do indeed describe myself as being eccentric it is probably because I simply like the sound of the word.

I hope in several years to attend classes at the Emily Carr institute and thereafter transfer to Saint Martin's in London.

It is sometimes difficult to find people who have similar interests as myself, so if you come across my page and would like to contact me, by all means, don't hesitate to do so. (By note or msn/e-mail if you prefer) Chances are I will glady strike up a conversation.
